ORIGINS:
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1964, moved to Canada in '92 where he became a Canadian Citizen in 1997. Today he resides between Canada and Costa Rica, where he plays covers and originals in hotels and music halls.
Charly is an international Rock singer, plays guitar and sings in Spanish, English and French. Ranging from hard rock classics to soulful ballads, his vocal range and style can really grab a hold of you.
CARREER:
First album recorded in 1984 with Mamut in Uruguay that can be listened on Spotify.
As the singer of Alvacast (www.alvacast.com), Charly recorded 4 albums with the band and toured South America from 1987 to 1991. Another album in Canada in 2005 and 2 solo albums, plus several compilations and collaborations, for a total of 18 releases. (see full Discography here: https://en.alvacast.com/charlylopezmusic).
Charly also was the singer of Up The Irons, once the most popular Iron Maiden tribute band in Canada.
EXPERIENCE:
Charly sings professionally since 1984, has 18 releases. He sang in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, USA and Canada.
In Canada Charly opened for famous rockers Trooper in Drayton Valley Omniplex Arena and at the Barrhead Arena.
He shared stage with many other Canadian and American artists like John McGale, Paul James, Chuck Jackson, Valdi, Donnie Walsh, SAB and Jeff Baldori.
CURRENT ACTIVITY:
In Costa Rica Charly plays regularly at 5 star hotels like Planet Hollywood and Riu Palace, where he offers quality concerts solo or with his band mates.
FUTURE PROJECTS:
Charly is planning to arrange a tour as soon as his new material is out.
Currently, Charly is also working on a new project called CLYM ALVACAST which is about promoting Alvacast's music and records. He is also working on new songs, some of which were written with Alvacast but were never recorded or finished as well as new material ready for a new solo record.
